Race: Vampires (Undead, Heliodead, The Fanged)
Sub-Races: Purebloods, Hala, and Helio Vampires
Lifespan: Immortal
Physical Descriptions: Pureblood vampires are those born with the Helioflux disease. They are defined by it and by the things it does to the infected. The young ones start off almost like a human. They grow hair, have rounded ears, average heights and weights and seem as if a plain mortal. It's their teeth that give them away. The fanged teeth and strange eyes.
As time passes they lose much of their human-like aspects. They seem to look more like marble.
Vampires vary from other races in many ways under the skin. Their blood is cold, like a reptile's. Because of this, vampires have to stay in warmer climates or risk a problem called "Blood Icing." While it won't stop a vampire from moving or kill them, it greatly weakens and pains them. (See Below for more information on Blood Icing.) In addition, a vampire's body does not and cannot build fat stores like warm blooded creatures. They are purely muscle and bone under the skin making all vampires look even more trimmed, lean and strong.
Since there's so many changes that vampires undertake and a variance between pureblood and infected vampires, here's the breakdown.
Pureblood Vampires: are those born descendants from the original vampires of Torlox. They are labeled by the stages of their growth. There are Youth, Mature, Prime Vampires and Vampra.
Purebloods are the strongest, fastest and most magikal type of vampire. At birth, they seem like any other child. They are weak and fragile. But from even this point, a pureblood infant must feed on fresh, warm blood. Animal or being, it doesn't matter. The child is cold-blooded, pale skinned and blind when born. After a year, the child will gain sight. Their eyes range in colors from green to violets to reds and any other combination. While normal and calm, the vampire's eyes will look like a human's but after they feed or become angry, the eyes intensify and almost seem to glow.
Infants are born with two fangs where front teeth will later grow in. This allows them to feed from birth though they need much help with it for the first month or so. After two months, other teeth will begin to fill in. Lower teeth, molars and fangs. The fangs will always start in the canine spot. The two front teeth will fall out around six months of age and new, flat teeth will fill in.
The new vampire will grow at the speed of a human child. It will be pale, but look like a mortal in almost all other ways. They age until about 20 where they begin to reach sexual maturity. At this point the baby teeth will begin to fall away and be replaced by the vampire's new, permanent ones. The baby teeth were enamel and bone; like human teeth but the new teeth are a stronger, much denser version. For the last twenty years, the body was building up and pressurizing the new teeth behind the others. These new teeth will never rot or break and will strengthen over time instead of weaken. The new teeth won't always grow in like the previous ones however. Some sets are traditional; they're straight and only have fanged canines. Others may grow fangs where their molars are or all the front teeth or just bottom canines.
After 20, the vampire will stop showing age change as others see aging. They will seem to be stopped in time until about 500 years old. Twenty to 500 is known as vampire "youth". They are more beautiful here than any other time of their life... as well as much weaker. They are fast and strong, but no more than one of the stronger races.
After 500, a vampire reaches "maturity". At this time in a vampire's life, the body will start to look less human and more something else. The skin will grow ashen or green tinged. The body will look more gnarled, almost dried out but in fact the vampire is growing stronger, faster and more magikal. They are a severe danger to almost all other races.
But it's not until after 1000 years, when the vampire enters his or her "prime", that the vampire learns his/her own abilities. Before 1000, a vampire cannot use Telepathy and its weaknesses are more deadly than now and any magikal skills one had before 1000 could be beaten by the skilled mage. In the prime, the vampire starts to lose its human look. He/she may grow leathery wings, extra arms, may grow scales instead of skin in places, grow claws instead of nails or simply lose skin and seem rotten. They're wickedly fast, almost unseen by the naked eye and strong enough to uproot a huge tree effortlessly.
After 3000 years, a Vampire becomes a Vampra. The Vampra are the most deadly type of vampire in existence and cannot be overcome by one younger than it. Something in the Vampire changes after its 3000th year. Magik flows easily and strongly from the vampire, like water comes over a waterfall. Their bodies are almost unbreakable, their speed is even faster if possible and silent. There are very few Vampra in existance. Mostly because there are few old enough to become a Vampra and because the vampire king, Terbias, does not stand for competition. Only those who are loyal to him will he allow to come to their 3000th year.
Hala Vampires: Hala Vampires are half-vampires or dirty-bloods. They are those born from at least one Helio or Hala Vampire parent (or those who are bitten and turned vampire). These vampires are weaker, slower and less talented. They will never reach the potential of a pureblood, even if they had one pureblood parent.
Hala Vampires are born alike to purebloods. They have the same teeth and need for blood, coloration and growth patterns. They do not, however, come in multiple named stages like the purebloods. They come to sexual maturity around 20 and gain their adult teeth at that time. After 500, they too begin to grow ashen and stone-like but unlike their pureblood brothers, they will never change from this state of statuesque being. They will never grow wings or claws. They become fast and strong, but nothing like the Purebloods become.
After 1000, they too grow enough magikally to learn a weaker version of telepathy and minor magiks. The difference between the Hala and the Pureblood besides their birth, is their tolerances and weaknesses and of course, further aging. Hala don't change beyond this point.
Infected Vampires: Are the lowest tier of vampires though unlike the others, were created by choice. To become infected, one must be bitten by another vampire, no matter their own beginning. An infected vampire might have been a person that was a snack and wasn't drain completely. He/She may have been an easy target and made of servitude to the creator or even love.
Any person from any race of people can be turned into a vampire except for a De'Mira. The two races' diseases are poisonous to each other and kill one another. Infected vampires are strong from the moment they're changed. Likely, an infected vampire is stronger than his maker for a while if their maker is very young.
Social: Vampires are aristocratic, social and vicious. They are slave drivers, very rich and take pleasure in the beautiful things as much as killing. Blood and blood wines sustain them and even be most liked but fresh blood from a living, youthful source will rejuvenate them and even reverse the effects of age slightly.
Sunlight ages the vampires quickly, like scarring. Any time in the sun at length will do irreparable damage and after an hour or more of direct sunlight, they will turn to ash and perish.
The vampires like to hold parties and social gatherings for those allied with them. They live in large, elegant castles, love jewelry and fancy clothing and wear such in abundance.
Vampires live within a highly competitive society. There is little love for each other but have a silky kind of respect for each of their kind. Those who are purebloods are seen as the highest and best vampires.
Purebloods know they are superior and hold their blood above the others who are born halfbreeds or those bitten.
All vampires need to drink blood or blood wines to continue living. If a vampire does not consume blood, he/she will shrivel up into a husk and be in a state of living dead forever. They have a good friendship with the Dur Hini who exports them the best blood wines made in Terrastra.
Vampires never sleep.
Breeding/Relationships: Two pureborn vampires can reproduce to make more pureblood vampires though the birthrate is very low and miscarriage is a 75% for all pregnancies.
Pureblood females are rare but males are common. A male pureblood vampire can mate with a female from another race (human, elf, or dwarf) and create children. Those children however will look like a mix between the races and will age like Infected vampires.
Infected Vampires: cannot reproduce, they are sterile. They do not grow wings, claws or other beastly attributes with age, but the skin and body would age like natural vampires do.
Love is rather superficial to vampires. Lust and sex is far more common.
Magic: Purebloods are Very High, Hala or Helio Above Average.
Speed: Purebloods are Very High, Hala or Helio Above Average.
Strength: Purebloods are Very High, Hala or Helio Above Average.
Skill: Purebloods are Very High, Hala or Helio Above Average.
Weaknesses:
Pureblood Weaknesses:
Halfbreed or Bitten Vampires Weaknessses:
Special Abilities:
Pureblood Abilities only:
The ability to speak into someone else's mind effortlessly. They can also read one's thoughts and intents that they are currently having while in their presence. Some vampires after 2500 years old can read into someone's memories or even sway their thoughts a certain way. There are those strong enough to make people believe something in front of their eyes is something else or not even there. (Example: A very strong vampire can make a living person believe they are seeing a youthful, beautiful person, but this will not work on such races like the dragons or any illusionist.)
Blood Healing - The more fresh blood a vampire drinks (from the vein of a living person, not a dead person, from a goblet or otherwise), he or she will retain some of their human-like appearances or even heal some of the older look of them to youth. However, no amount of blood will keep a vampire entirely youthful or beautiful, they age no matter what. A strong vampire is always rather beastly.
Sun Resilience - After a vampire is fully matured (over 3000), he/she will be able to resist the effects of the sun on their bodies far far longer than any other vampire, even able to be in direct sunlight for extended periods of time. However, it does tire the vampire out.
Halfbreed or Bitten Vampires Abilities:
Minor Telepathy - The ability to speak in another person's mind or pick up on emotions and stray thoughts from another person.

Export/Craft: Vampires are amazing wood workers and are known to make the finest furniture and coffins in Terrastra, the latter earning them the reputation of sleeping in coffins.
Territory: Rhun Isle
Alignment: Evil
Creator: Torlox
Rp Notes: These vampires are not Twilight vampires, nor are they vampires of any kind you have heard of or seen before. They are created, designed and meant to be used here on Terrastra. You will not be beautiful if you want to be powerful.
If you chose to be a vampire, you may be any type {pureblood, hala, or helio}, old or young. Please stay within RP bounds for them because it is one of the few things we will, as the staff, act upon and limit. For further questions please contact the Head Admin at any time.
